Show 64 "Is the printer dead or unconscious?" she squinted at the men. "Dead?" quavered Elise. "You don't even have the presence of mind to inspect his condition! What kind of barbarians are you?" Hannah strode toward Hyrum fearlessly, intimidating the men with her grand presence. "We haven't touched him" put in the burly bull. As much as Lathrop admired his wife for her great courage, he wanted to protect her even more. "I suggest, Madame, that you go--for Master Foley of the Watch. You'll get no satisfaction trying to reason with these roughs." Hannah, in response to her husband's direction, strode toward the door. Elise, knowing she must accompany her mistress, began edging her way to the door also, fearful of turning her back on the two scoundrels. "Now wait just a minute," the mouse didn't want any authorities called in. Hannah ignored his demand and continued walking toward the door with Benjamen fully attached to her skirt. The mouse gave a signal to the bull that he was to take hold of Lathrop while he prevented the ladies from exiting. |
