Show CHAPTER ONE "November 26, 1630" John Lathrop forced himself to go to Westminster that day. He was repelled, sickened at the thought of vvhat he would see. Yet he knew he must go. When Hannah helped hirn to button his long woolen cloak, he sensed her unspoken anxieties. "Hannah?" he tilted her head upward, encouraging her to voice her tears . "Will you return to us?" she whispered. "Will thee prepare breast of pigeon pie for supper?" he asked using the same serious tone. "John, it's not a joke." There was hurt in her v dite. He drew her close. She was a woman born out of her time-too good to be subjected to the miseries around them. Yet,it was because of her that he believed he could take on the Goliaths who ruled England. Someday he would, but not today.
