Show All the Variables & Other Love Stories 88 Lindsay, but she wouldn't listen. She was worried about Travis, whom Siobhan, his ex-girlfriend, couldn't find. Siobhan had called everyone she knew to call, but no one had seen Travis. Feste had met Travis through Siobhan with whom Feste used to work at a restaurant franchise. Siobhan was a server and Feste had been a line-cook. Her given name, shockingly, was Siobhan. She was tall and graceful and about seven months pregnant. Travis had broken up with her because of her sensitive condition, but neither of them could afford to move out so they still lived together. Travis apparently couldn't handle working fulltime, going to school fulltime, playing in a band fulltime, and morning sickness all at once. He'd reached critical mass and something had to go. Travis' given name was Travis, of course. No one, Feste was certain, would self-inflict such a ridiculous name. A year ago, Travis passed out from heroin withdrawals with a lit joint between his lips and burned his and Siobhan's entire apartment building to the ground. The experience shook him significantly enough to get him serious about rehab, where he supplemented his heroin addiction with a methadone addiction. Feste, Travis, and Blind Nate had played together as a grind trio called Love in the Time of Chlamydia for about a year before Feste left to start a band with Kell, Anthony, and Mark. Mark used to be Vagina Dentata's vocalist He was six-foot-five, ripped, and had pipes like a fucking howitzer. His stage presence had been mesmerizing, but he was so stupid, Feste and Kell found it difficult to think in his presence. Mark quit the band because his mom said if he was going to live with her he'd have to get a fulltime job, and he'd become a tracker. |
