Mueh of the way but few scattering trees to be seen. CAMP- On the Platte FOBT T. ARAifim- Gamp half a mile shore the fort Cross the Laramie Fork below the fort about one mile. WABM SPBISO- The road taken leads oyer the Black Hills some distance south of the river; it avoids the Kanyon passes, and usually has better feed for cattle, exoept when it is consumed by the multitude of travellers. B u m CBSXK BBAHOH; Cou> SPUVO - Leaving the Warm Spring Valley, ascend a pretty steep hill, and pass over ridges to Bitter Creek. Biran CBJHHC- Main branch, up which the road lies; fuel and grass abundant ; stream 10 feet wide and 8 inches deep. HOBSB- SHOI CBBBK- The road 1ollows up a dry branch; no water until arriving at Horse- shoe Creek. Timber, grass, & o. Cross at the forks, and rising, pass over two ridges,. with dry beds of streams. Bruno- A spring and bed of ereek, the water in pools. LA. Bona BiYnu- From the spring rise to a high, undulating ridge, the road very crooked. Descending for 1J miles to dry bed of creek, follow this half a mile. BlAJWH CAMP- At the head of a spring branch. Road over hills, the wheels require frequent looking. Cross branches now dry.
