Larte oleagineus ; pileo nigro, albo guttulato : subtus saturate caudar rectricum duarum mediarumpogoniis intends et rectricum duarum utrinque externarum vitta obliqua subapicali pallide cinnamomeis : long, tota 4'6, alar 2*3, caudar rostri a rictu 0'8, tarsi 06. Hab. ad Sarayacu in ripis fl. Ucayali. Affinis P. cinnamomeo, sed fronte non alba, dorsi colore olivaceo, caudae pictura et rostro longiore diversus. Of this rare species of Picumnus, which seems most nearly allied to P. cinnamomeus, Mr. Bartlett has transmitted but a single specimen. There is also a single specimen in the Paris Museum obtained by M M . Castelnau and Deville at Sarayacu. As Bonaparte's description is rather short, we have added its most marked characters. 193.
