A LIST OF VERTEBRATED ANIMALS LIVING IN THE GARDENS OF THE ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF LONDON {Third Edition), 1865. This List contains the scientific and common names of all the vertebrated animals living in the Society's Gardens during the year 1864, arranged in order according to their natural affinities. The sex, native country, date of arrival, and mode of acquisition of each individual specimen are likewise given. The number of species exhibited in 1864 was 272 of Mammals, 558 of Birds, 75 of Reptiles, and 51 of Fishes; altogether 956 species of Vertebrates. Price Is. 6d. |
