A It was not identical with the method that has been used, because I did not use the cap in the bottle with a hole that had a paper pasted over it; I found that I could not let this weight down in such a way as yo puncture that hole, because at a period of high water the amount of submerged paper that was carried was so great that it would lodge on this carrier ( indicating), and this ( indicating) could not get down far enough to strike that plunger and arm ( indicating on plate); so that instead of doing that, I left that hole in the cap open, |
