Show 5797 3795- B percentage of matter in these water samples is too low. However, they do serve as a check on the minimum quanti-ty carried by the river. In no case do the water samples show too large results. So that our silt and water samples Bright Angel Station have been collected since 1924, a little over four years. At Topock Station, we started at the same time a collec-tion of water and silt samples, for the same period, except that this last year we did not get water samples at Topock. At Yuma the Reclamation Service had been taking silt samples, so we did not enter the field there in getting out silt samples, but we did want to find out about this dissolved matter at Yuma, and took water samples there from October, 1927, to September, 1928. Those samples have been taken at Lees Ferry October 1, 1928, to the present time, and they are being continued. |
