Show 5894 342 3900 A Yes, sir, they did. Q Mr. Lee Lent was your head boatman, was he not? A On the Cataract trip Elmer Kolb was the head boat-man. Q And was Lee Lent with you through the Cataract? A He was. Q As I understand, you preceded the boats through Cataract Canyon, did you not? A Through the dark Canyon rapids; that far I was usually ahead with my work. Q And you left the operation of the boats to Mr. Kolb and Mr. Lent? A I did. Q Mr. Chenoweth, I show you Exhibit 80, which is en-titled " Rapids, Rapid Water, and Quiet Water", compiled by W. G. Hoyt, and ask you if you have checked the rapids which are shown by Mr. Hoyt in this report on the sections of the river on which you worked, and whether or not you find that they correspond with your survey? Mr. Farnsworth. I object to that. I do not object to your asking him that first question first. |
