Show 5917 3923 river, and any other facts that we could get that would be useful for a study of the general geology, and for use of the parties. Q What kind of parties? A Perhaps I should have added that there were at the time two parties working in that region, one north of the Colorado River and one south of the Colorado River; the river to be the dividing line of the territory occupied by the parties; and it was expected that they would work the river and would have, both of them, to map the banks of the river. Q What were they working on? A They were primarily engaged in mapping the aeral geology and the features that might show the structure of the country and its possibilities for oil and gas production. By Mr. Blackmar: Q Now, proceed with your notes. A On August 4, we traveled 34 ½ miles by the river to about mile 30 ½ . Q Do your notes indicate the time you made the land-ing there at Moab? A I have no record of that. I could only tell you from memory. |
