Well, I want to see if I can get it: because I understand the witness has testified that what he paid attention to was not to get an undue amount of the water from the bottom of the river, but to get a fair section up. But now you want to ask whether he considered the feet that he was stirring up sediment at the bottom by lowering his weight. Is that what you want? Mr. Farnsworth. No; I think the witness has testified both ways on it; that is my recollection. I think he last stated that it was so muddy be undesirable to get pieces of sediment into the top; that that might change the content of it; but that aside from that it did not make the slightest whether the sample was taken from the bottom or the top. Of course, I think he has said both ways on it. I am cross- examining him. I do not agree with the conclusion ex-pressed by this witness, and I think I have a right to test his testimony.
