A well, it was investigating the feasibility, I should say, of the reservoir and dam sites of the San Juan and Colo- Q And your particular assignment was to do what? A As I said, to make the plan and profile surveys -- if that is what you mean. Q What height did you run your survey up to? A The height was up to the limiting contour; to the limit in contour of 3900. And prior to reaching 3900, which does not extend up the river as far as Chinle Creek, I only considered the canyon walls or adjacent territory, and very little elevation -- probably anywhere from 40 to 100 feet. But after reaching the limiting contour of 3900, I mapped the topography in all cases up to that point. Q Were you chief of the party? A Yes, sir. Q And was one of your duties to arrange for supplies? A Yes, sir.
