The water was not noticeably higher or lower in July, 1914, then it was in August, September, and October. In addition to the two motor boats pushing the " Betsy Ann", he also had three small row boats with him. R. 2142. He had never been down the river before this trip, and Captain Yokey had charge of the navigation, assisted by Joe Ross. It took him about twenty- five days to complete his survey from Wimmer's Ranch, down to the junction; and he took the boats along with him. He believes it took four or five days to come back up the river. He made another trips up the river during the course of the survey. R. 2142- 2143. He stayed with the party all the time, and he took sufficient supplies for the entire trip, was supplied by no one else; nor was it necessary to come in and get additional supplies. R. 2144.
