On Mr. Wimmer's various trips he always carried a man or two with him; and on the final trip he believes the man with Mr Wimmer was his son. R. 2139- 2140. " BY MR. FARNSWORTH: " Q. Calling your attention to page 71 of Exhibit 1100, will the picture there at the left refresh your recollection as to the number of employees you had in your drilling crew? " A. Yes; seems to be twelve of us; eleven were our regular crew; Mr. Richardson, at the extreme left, was not with us on this out- going trip. " Q. Did Mrs. Richardson come down to the junction? " A. The lady in question is our cook. " Q. Yes had a lady down there cooking for you on this expedition? " A. A woman cook, yes sir." R. 2140. The other members of the party and the woman cook did not go up the river occasionally, during the period of the drilling operations. R. 2141. He believes that his survey trip lasted about a month, from the middle of July until the middle of August. He started on the river " below the rapids there, in the neighborhood of Wimmer's ranch, and went down to the junction and came back again up the Green." R. 2141- 2141. On this trip he had the " Betsy Ann", which was not equipped with power at the time. |
