Show 380 From this point, as indicated on sheet 19, of exhibit 10, the survey ran into pipe line Canyon, which is a box canyon, and up that canyon to what is called to knolls, which is the highest point on the desert between Green River and the Shafer well No. 1. From the knolls the road would then have a gradual slope down to the railroad at a point near Crescent, at station on the Denver and Rio Grande southern railroad, about six miles west of Thompson. R985 " Q. Do you know the purpose in surveying that ready " A. Well, it was a location survey, to see - it was a pipe line survey, with sort of a road scouting trip at the same time. There was no real road survey that I ever heard of." R. 985 ( Note: Discussion by counsel R. 985- 986) The Shafer No. 1 well is on the west side of the river or the right hand side doing down. The Shafer No. 2 well is on the same side of the river about ten miles from No. 1 and it is not road connecting the two wells. Aside from these two wells there is the SnowdenMcSweeeny well, opposite Shafer No. 1 well and on the east side of the river is the Lockhart well, that was started at the south of Lockhart Canyon right on river.
