From there he entered Columbia University, where he spent several months and then came west on mining investigation work and entered the University of Denver. He then want to South America on a geological trip for the purpose of investigating mines for the republics of Bolivia, Chile and Peru, returning later to the Colorado School of Nines. That was about the time the United States entered the world war. He was then employed as associate geologist with the engineering firm of Fisher and Lowry of Denver, Colorado. In 1923 he opened his won office as consulting geologist and mining engineer and at the present time he is still engaged in practising his profession. R. 989.990 He first went in to the Moab country in March, 1920 for the purpose of taking a geological investigation of the Moab and salt Valley anticlines located directly at Moab and about eight miles east of Thompson's. The city of Moab lies in about the center of the Moab anticline and the salt Valley anticlines extend from a point eight miles southeast of Thompson's to the Colorado river above Moab.
