Show 352 He believes Disaster Falls is in Lodore Canyon, and following Desolation Canyon is Gray Canyon and there are rapids in Gray Canyon. R. 905. There are certain stretches in the Green River above Greenriver, Utah, where it would be possible to take a boat up stream in certain stages of water. Such a condition exists through Brown's Park and above Desolation Canyon to Curay and Jensen, Utah. R. 906. From 1916 to 1928 there have been a great number of changes in the Green River between Jensen, Utah, and the Greenriver bridge. In many places the banks have been washed away; the river has changed its course; and a good number of sand bars have been destroyed that showed in low water. Near the old Spalding place about two miles above Greenriver and at the Sawyer place, the river has become wider and shallower. In using an out- board motor he notices that the propellor hit bottom very hard in these places. R. 907- 908. At the Sawyer place the river had changed its channel and out through a former island that now apparently does not exist except in high water. At this point the river formerly was a narrow, gravel bottom with swift water. This condition existed in September of 1928 and it was impossible to get the boat through except near the shore.
