Show Danced this noon to celebrate Prom week. Went around to men's open house today. They all served freshments, H.2O. in very unique ways. February 22 • Birthington's Washday today. Spent the whole day in trying to get a dress suit that at least nearly fits me. I guess I'm not a perfect 38 or anything else. February 23 Danced again this noon. W'ent to the library and waited until time to visit the sororities. They certainly knew how to treat a fellow. To begin with they served more than the fellows did yesterday. This made quite a hit. February 24 Tonight was the night of nights. That ball room and mezzanine floor was all decorated out of shape. They had the loveliest favors. When my girl asked for mine I found out that you should give them to the young lady. There were two different orchestras and music galore. Can't say much for the ladies' dresses. I was really afraid to look at them. We had a wonderful evening. My collar was so tight that it cut off my memory and all that I know now is that the evening and morning culminated at Speery and Mehse. February 28 Wasn't able to come to school yesterday. These Proms surely make a fellow feel broken in spirits and in a financial way. March 1 Had better close this book for a while. Must give myself a chance to gain the confidences of my profs., again. And anyway Lent starts tomorrow. If there are social functions they shouldn't be published. March 17 Engineers celebrated one of their patrons birthday. Blarney Stoney and dance. Had more fun! Had parade, spirits, initiation, Quarter closed today. March 18 Maybe I will get by. March 20 , Spring Sprung today. It's one day early too. April 5 The occasion of the year came today when Pres. George Thomas, our president,, was inaugurated at one of the greatest functions the University has ever seen. Page 305 Digital Image © 2007 University of Utah. All rights reserved. |
