LATE spring set the 1922 track season off to a very inauspicious beginning. Balmy days soon arrived, however, and forthwith appeared on the cinder track one of the most promising arrays of track and field talent that has ever started off a season at the University. The team this year includes an unusually strong freshman representation, which assures the school of strength in the spring activity in years to come. The sprint department contains the finest assortment of cinder artists that have ever congregated at the school in a season. Of last year's sprinters there are Dunyon, Jenson and Ballard returned. Freshmen claim honors in this department with such runners as Jewkes, Whitney, Smith, Cartwright, Milne, Mercer, Hutton and Lee. Watts, Swan, Watkins, Moyle and Bird are the class of the 440 yard men at the school. Dean and Harold Hart, Milton and Paul Cannon, Gillette, Hales and Den Datts run the distance events for the Crimson. ¦ ¦*¦- Jr. Sprinters Left to right: Brinton Jenson, Albert Dunyon, Elwood Christenson, Virgil Caine, Denzil Lee, Bush-nell, Milne, Reid Jewkes, Bert Ballard, McKinley Oswald.
