Description LAWS OF UTAH. 229 seventy-two cents, where auditors warrants were issued, during 1854 and following years, to pay expense of State House, Territorial Library, public roads, &c, which have not heretofore been provided for by Legislative action: Therefore, Be it resolved by the Governor and Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Utah: That the Auditor of Public Accounts be hereby authorized arid, instructed to settle with parties iuterested, and to enter credits to correspond with the footing of each and every open account embraced in the said aggregate of nine thousand three hundred and eighty dollars and seventy-two cents. Be it resolved by the Governor and Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Utah: That the Directors of the Penitentiary are hereby authorized to cancel the account against Alexander McRae, of one hundred and fifty-two dollars. Resolved by the Governor and Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Utah: That the next annual sessioif of the Legislative Assembly shall convene in the State House (commonly called Council House) in Great. Salt Lake City, and that said session shall begin at one o'clock p.m. of the second Monday in December next. ;.„.Approved January 19,1866. ' CHAPTER CLXXIII. RESOLUTION pertaining to. the Penitentiary. Sec. 1.-Be it resolved by the Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Utah: That it shall be the duty of the Directors of the Penitentiary to ascertain where land can be purchased, at some point in Great Salt Lake City, suitable for a site to erect a Penitentiary building thereon, and make conditional contract therefor. Sec. 2.-The said Directors shall employ a competent Architect, to prepare plans and specifications for the said Penitentiary building; and, having decided upon the plan for said building, shall thereupon advertise, at least five consecutive weeks, for sealed proposals for the erection of said Prison upon such plan, in the Deseret News and Telegraph printed in Great Salt Lake City; and all proposals received by the said
