Show 1 zz The following summarizes briefly the pertinent Information presented in detail in Appendix B. The locations of sand and gravel pits from which sand and gravel had been used that are on record in the files of the- Colorado State Highway Department were transferred to maps showing the distribution on subject lands. Using these maps as a base two engineers checked the locations of these pits in the field, recorded other pits they found, and mapped the extent of all gravel deposits. In addition to the foregoing, production records, royalty data, and other factors bearing on value were studied and tabulated. The important findings are: 1. Indicated reserves cf gravel 14 billion tens 2. Total number of sand and gravel pits in area 304 3. Number of sand and gravel pits on subject lands 54 4. Production by counties in area involved from 1929 to 1938, averaged yearly 171,136 tons 5. Estimated increase 1938 to 1988 50$ 6. Average royalty paid per ton $0.02 7. Yearly royalty paid (171,136 tons plus 50^) 256,704 x 0.02 $5,134.08 8. Ute Indians' share of royalty on basis of percentage of sand and travel pits on their lands in each county $797.97 9.
