Kretmann applied, on behalf of his school at Zoar, Green Bay Agency, Wis., under the auspices of the Board of Lutheran Indian Missions, for a contract for the fiscal year 1906 for 40 children of the Menominee tribe, at $108 per capita per annum. On June 9, 1905, the Bureau of Catholic Indian Missions was informed that its request rvould be given careful consideration, but that the question whether both trust and treaty funds are "moneys I belonging to the Indians themselves and not to the public, and there- I |
