ABSTRACT OF THE PROCEEDINGS T h e S ecr etar y exhibited, on behalf o f the H o n . W a l t er R o th sc h ild , F.Z.S., a pair o f mounted Gorillas. T h e an ima ls appeared to be near ly adu lt and were probably from 12 to 13 years old. Tlie male was u nu sually red on the head, while the female displayed no trace o f this colour. T h is difference of coloration confirmed M r . R o th sch ild 's opinion th a t Gorilla castaneiceps of Slack was an aberration and not entitled to specific or subspecific rank. Mr. F r ed er ick G il l e t t , F .Z .S ., exhibited some mounted heads of the Rocky-Mountain Goat (Haploceros movtamis), with the object of calling attention to a gland lying at the base of each horn, which he believed had not been previously described. Mr. R. H. B u r n e , F.Z.S., exhibited some specimens made from the viscera of the Indian Rhinoceros " J im " that had lately died in the Society's Gardens. A communication from Mr. N elson A n n a n d a l e contained a description of two abnormal larvae of the Frog Rana alticola. Mr. G. A. B o u len g er , F.R.S., gave an account of a second collection of Fishes made by Mr. S. L. Hinde in the Kenya District of East Africa. Examples of five species were contained in the collection, three of which were new to science. * This Abstract is published by the Society at 3 Hanover Square, London, W., on the Tuesday following the date o f Meeting to which it refers.
