Show SALT LAKE CITY 11. UTAH March 21, 1973 Mr. Vernon Jorgensen Planning Director S.L.C. Planning & Zoning Commission 414 City and County Building Salt Lake City, Utah Dear Mr. JorgeAsen: v ,/{Y At the last month meeting of the/S~l t Lake City Historical Building Committee (you will havEi.J:leen handed the minutes, March 6, 1973), i was voted that this committee petition the Planning & Zoning Commission to change the zoning of the Old McCune School from an "R-4" and "R-5" District, which allows high-rise apartments, churches, fire stations, and museums, to an "R-7" zone, which would make it possible to have offices in this area. For descriptions of this zone and for conditions in it, please refer to the minutes of the meeting. This request came from a group of architects and planning consultants represented at our meeting by Raymond N. Jones, JosephW. Linton and Werner Weixler. Our i~T.ediate contact on this. matter is with Mr. Linton. They are anxious to get: a decision on their petition as soon as possible. Our Committee unanimously approves their petition. You will please note in the minutes, the first paragraph 6n the second page, that an agreement be made up by the City Attorney to the owner stating that since it is a historical building, with a city plaque, they will need to give six month's notice to the City before selling, so the City would have the first chance to buy the building, and also that they notify the City before any alterations are made, six months before remodeling time. If any more action by the Committee or by it's chairman is needed, please let me know. |
