Park Building Campus Dear President Olpin: . There is attached hereto3 cepy of Senate Bill Number 139 of the recent Utah State legislature which transfers the Utah Geo» '_ logical and Mineralogcal Survey to the College of Mines and Mineral Industries of the University ofUtah. . . . In order to be in position to take over the responsibility or the Geological and Mineralogical Survey on July 1, as is provided for in the bill, permit me to cement on sections of the bill on which action should be taken as soon as possible, in order that our organize:tion may be prepared for our obligation. , In section 34-0-1 is the statement "To assist in attaining the objects of said survey, theBoard of Regents of the University of Utah shall appoint an advisory board composed of at least one represent» ative from each of the following organizations and institutions: Unicversity of Utah, Utah State Agricultural College, Utah Section of the American Institute for Mining and Metallurgical Engineers, Utah Mining Association, Utah Goal Operators Association and the United States Geo» "logical Survey." Permit me to suggest that the Board of Regents consider the following named individuals as appointees to this advisory board: Mr Paul Hunt, Vice-President and General Manager of Perle-Utah Consolidated Mines Company to represent the American Institute of Mining and Metals ' lurgical Engineers, Mro James Wade or Mr. James Richardson, or both, |
