Minutes of the Administrative Council meeting held Tuesday, September 9, 1947, at 3 p.m., in room 305, Park Building. present were: President Olpin presided. Members Sydney W. Angleman, Myrtle Austin, George V. Beard, Arthur L. Beeley, Alice 0. Bronson, Carl J. Christensen, waiter P. Cottam, G. Homer Durham, Henry Eyring, Avard Fairbanks, Jacob Geerlings. L. David Hiner, Mervin B. Hogan, I. O. Horsfall, Lester A. Hubbard, A. Ladru Jensen. L. H. Kirkpatrick, William H. Leary, John R. Lewis, George A. Pierson. John T. wahlquist, and Dilworth Walker. Members excused were: Leo G. Provost, E. L. Quinn. Don M. Bees, and A. LeRoy Taylor. I. Minutes Dean Angleman suggested a change in the minutes of the August 5 meeting, in the section describing the discussion of Home Economics appointments. He was instructed to talk it over with the secretary, Mrs. Brown. who will present a change at the next meeting. II. Report of Committee on "Health of Faculty and Employees" The President read a copy of the report of the Committee on Health of Faculty and Employees adopted by the Third National Conference on Health in Colleges held in New York City in May, l9fl7. He also read a portion of the Laws of Utah, 1925, Chapter 7, Section 8, Page 7, and the proposed resolution‘ for incorporation into the regulations of the Board of Regents. This resolu- tion was prepared by a Special Joint Committee of Regents and Faculty in July, 1947. All members of the Administrative Council had previously received all of this material for study and consideration before the meeting. Dean Eyring queried whether the portion of the State Law which was read applied to the University. It was Dean Leary's opinion that it did not. |
