Under the practice a craltman received the University rate for maintenance work and a higher rate equal to or. approaching the unioon scale for new work.The discontinuance of. the praca tics has simplified time keeping and effected economies estimeted at. between 20 to 30 thousand dollars per year. . The saving .to the University has, of course, reduced the ~ income of the participating craftsmen in like mount. . .
