Show h80 Consideration having been given by the Athletic Council of the US.A.C and the Athletic Council of the U of 11., and in conference between designated committees of the respective governing boards of the 0.8.1143 and U of U0 , to the matter of the annual football game between the teams of the two State institutions; and It appearing that this game should be built as a State tradition and as a damnstration to the people of Utah of the value of college athletics and held so as to provide an opportunity for all the people of Utah to ' witness the gene under the most favorable conditions and with the least possible inconvenience; and It further appearing that this can best be done ' by placing full responsibility for meeting these con» ' ditions upon the two institutions Jointly under a contract or cessponsorship that will be fair and equitable to all concerned: IT IS, WEE recommended to the Board of Trustees and Board of Regents, that it be declared as a a policy, to govern the annual football contest between v the teams of the 0.3..Aoco and no 0106, that the annual game be played at the {1.0! U. at Salt Lake City on ‘ Thanksgiving Day of each year, and that beginning in ~l9h9 (if proper arrangements cannot be feasibly made for the 19h8, game) the full responsibility be carried by n: MAC n .: v ‘ the two institutions on a Joint sponsorship basis, under a written contract, fixing the rights and responsibilities of each party, giving proper consideration to the interest or the public generally in this traditional event, the contth to be negotiated and prepared by a committee from ' each institution appointed by the board of each institution, and to consist of one board msnber, one faculty member, representing the ,«ath‘betic council, and one member from _ the finance office, the contract to be approved and signed by the chairnsn of the governing board of each institution.
