Show CALIFORNIA DEFENDANTS Exhibit No. 15 MAY 7 1957 Identification: July 6, 1956 Admitted:.................... Notice of Appropriation of Water. Notice is Hereby Given:- That Edmund T. Perkins, thereunto duly authorized by the Secretary of the Interior, for and on behalf of the United States of America, claims at the point where this notice is posted, all the unappropriated waters of the Colorado River, both surface and underflow, to the extent of one hundred thousand (100,000) cubic second feet. The point where this notice is posted is described as follows:- On the left bank of the Colorado River about twenty-two and one-fourth (22^4) miles, above Yuma, Arizona, and is in or near Sec. 18, Tp 6, S, R. 21 W. Gila and Salt River Meridian, Arizona. This notice is posted in box, and box nailed to tree. That said water is claimed for irrigation, manufacturing purposes, water power, domestic use and other beneficial uses, and the terminus and place of intended use is at "Yuma Valley" and to the Mexican Boundary Line, and along the line of proposed conduit. The water would be converted by means of a dam, and will be conveyed through canals, tunnels, flumes, wooden, iron, steel and cement pipes to the place of intended use. The size of the canal is to be 65 ft. wide on the bottom, 75 ft. wide on top, 10 ft. deep, on a grade of 30 ft. to the mile, or of such dimensions as will give it an equivalent capacity. |
