Show 48 PROBLEMS OF IMPERIAL VALLEY AND VICINITY. BELOW LAGUNA DAM. This comprises Imperial Valley, the Yuma project, and the delta lands in Mexico. The major part of that on the west side of the river lies below sea level. On the east side the irrigable lands lie either on the river's flood plains or on mesas which can be reached by pumping.
