Show -11- Extract From "Repayment Histories and Payout Schedules, 1952," Bureau of Reclamation Yuma Project arizona-california Construction of the Yuma project in Imperial County, Calif., and Yuma County, Ariz., was authorized by the Secretary of the Interior on May 10, 1904 in accordance with section 4 of the Reclamation Act of June 17, 1902 (32 Stat. 388). It was proposed to irrigate by gravity flow 15,000 acres of agricultural lands in the Reservation Division (Imperial County) and 50,000 acres in the Valley Division (Yuma County). Original project features included the Laguna Dam, Yuma Main Canal, Colorado River Siphon, distribution canals and laterals, and drainage systems.
