He didn't do the work himself, but he ordered it done, and he saw the cable there. R. 2083. " Q. What happened to the cable? " A. It broke; Mr. Gill took care of that work for me when I went out in the summer wine; when I returned in the winter he reported they tried it three times." R. 2083- 2084. When he returned to the camp in 1915, he found the buildings completely buried with sediment and sand just the roofs sticking out. R. 2085. Cross Examination.( R. Vol. 11., pp. R. 2085- 2086.) The sand blows out in that country; but not so much right at the mines as it does on the way down. To a certain extent it blows at the mine. As near as he can recall it was in August, 1902, that he drove down the river bed. R. 2085. He is positive that the date was 1902 when the river went dry. R. 2086. Further Examination.( R.
