Show PRENATAL CARE Utah has a higher percentage of pregnant women receiving prenatal care in the first trimester than does the nation. Utah also has a smaller percentage of women not receiving any prenatal care, or not beginning care until the third trimester. The Utah rates appear generally consistent for the past twenty years. The nation-wide prenatal care percentages climbed substantially during the 1970's and have remained fairly stable since the early 1980's, showing only a recent slight decline (Table 90, Figure 57).
