Show About the Author Norman J. Waitzman, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Utah. He recently completed post-doctoral training in health services research as a Pew and AHCPR Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley and the University of California, San Francisco. He is currently writing a book on physician supply and public policy with a colleague at UC, Berkeley. His other research interests include the economics of health care reform, the affects of labor market structure on health outcomes, and the cost of illness.
