Show INFANT MORTALITY BY RACE/ETHNICITY Race-specific infant mortality rates for minorities are hard to interpret in Utah because of the relatively small populations of these sub-groups. The "Black" population has the highest rate of infant mortality in both Utah and the nation. (Table 24, Figure 18). National rates for other groups are not available, but based on these data it appears that Native American, Asian/Pacific Islander and Hispanic groups tend to have higher infant mortality rates than Whites.
