Show INDUCED ABORTIONS Utah's abortion rate (number of abortions per 1,000 live births) is substantially below the nation's (Table 2, Figure 4). Between 1980 and 1991, Utah's abortion rate increased by 14%. However, it decreased by 9% from 1991 to 1992. Between 1980 and 1990, the nation-wide induced abortion rate declined by 3.5%. The Utah:U.S. ratio shows the Utah abortion rate to be moving from about one-quarter of the national rate to about one-third.
