Show The Junior BoothThat Junior Prom !Y, Bill, come let's go down to earth," said Milton as he slapped Shakespeare familiarly on the back. "I hear there's something great doing among the Juniors at the "U.""No, I've got to go down to the Elysian Fields today, Milton. Awfully sorry; goodbye." The two went their ways. The next morning Milton rushed up to his friend, exclaiming: "Why, Bill, there's nothin in Heaven or Hell equal to what I've just seen. Heaven in all cold whiteness and Hell is a seething paint pot of dashing colors compared to that little spot down there in the gymnasium. Those "kidlets" on earth know how to do things, let me tell you. They can change night into day by the use of little balls of gorgeously colored fire hung from the ceilings and strewn over the walls. Why, they peek at you through their delicate cases from every nook and, though rivaling Hell in their brilliancy, surpass the rich, mellow glow of Heaven. The figures moving round in this lovely haziness seemed to beam with warm life, so unlike the cold insipid faces of our companions. These beings, who were all exquisitely robed, glided noiselessly hither and thither to the reverberating strains of instruments far more melodious than even the angels' harps."At one end of the great hall, the sparkling waters of a dancing fountain reflected these bejewelled figures as they whirled past. In the cool water's depths, fish-like flashes of gold shot back and forth."Above this ever-moving mass, arched a lattice of interwoven leaves and flowers, among which gorgeous butterflies flitted restlessly."Artistic little rooms-I believe they call them booths-bordered three sides of the room. Opposite a blazing "U" was a dainty white booth, blooming with cherry bows, fairly alive with butterflies. Here, from the sparkling contents of a crystal bowl, the weary dancers refreshed themselves at frequent intervals during the evening."Not far from the Junior nectar booth the Gamma Phis received hospitably, in a shady, grape arbor."A unique creation was the vine-covered piazza of the Theta "U's," furnished with swings and garden seats and supplied with an abundance of pretty, green wafers.
