It was the pleasure of the students of this department to be entertained during an evening in the month of November by the Law Faculty. Historically it is the first of its kind in the State and will stand as one of the social stones which mark the stern advance of the Law School of Utah. Besides this, the event possessed an internal significance to the Barrister. The order of the evening was "Be Thyself." Opportunity was afforded for this expression. When the-----------La Megaswere passed around as a preliminary, certain elements asserted themselves as strictly abstinent (among whom the ex-missionaries were strong), and classified themselves as "the elect." The Plebs, who vigorously indulged themselves, soon befouled and befogged the atmosphere with their exhalations.*****When the fog had sufficiently cleared to permit the penetration of the eye, a table, sumptuously decked with goods for the palate, could be detected. It was not long idle before fulfilling its purpose. * * When the liquid began to flow, one whose assumed attribute classified him among the elect-and in particular an ex-proselytor-suddenly resumed the more positive and wider known semblance of that form of life which is classified as "Fish.''Fireside intercourse and soap-box oratory filled in the remainder of the evening. ; ¦ : !/H(106) |
