Show The NormalsES, we are the Normal class. First, normal as to the course; second, normal as to brilliancy and ability; third, normal as to stupidity, and fourth, normal as to future aspirations. None at present are aspiring for the presidential chair, while on the other hand none are hoping to sink into obscurity. From one to two years ago we entered this school, all with different talents, but with one purpose-to enter the educational field. Let us hope that our ambition may be realized. We live in a great age and the knowledge learned at school is only a nucleus for what is to come. Every day a new thought is advanced, and every year these new thoughts revolutionize the ways of educational method. To keep in touch with these new methods and utilize them in so far as they are practical, spells success for us.The large part of our work in this school has been along the lines of education, and if, in our work, we ourselves have learned concentration, then we are the better able to impart it to others, and in concentration lies any one's success. We are not Caesars, and cannot hope to foster a double ambition.By our slips and falls we shall gain power, because we are normal; by our achievements we shall gain happiness; that, too, because we are normal. Then here's to the Normals of '10."Hail, Normals, hail! Here's to the work we have done, Here's to the "U" in years to come. Hail, Normals, hail!"Marie Scobee,Class Historian.(86) |
