Show 1879.] BIRDS FROM ANTIOQUIA. 549 study of "Bogota" collections. It must be recollected, however, that "Bogota" collections contain a certain number of specimens from the southern slopes of the Columbian Andes and, therefore, strictly belonging to the Amazonian fauna. 2. In cases where the Bogota species has a specifically distinct representative form in Ecuador, the Antioquian species generally belongs to the latter, or, at any rate, shows more resemblance to it; e. g. :- BOGOTA. Cinnicerthia unirufa. Compsocoma victorini. Ostinops sincipitalis. Masius chrysopterus. Bupicola peruviana. Cynanthus cyanurus. Andigena nigrirostris. ANTIOQUIA. C. unibmnnea (?). C. sumptuosa. 0. atrocastaneus. M. coronulatus (?) B. sanguinea. C. mocoa. A. spilorhynchus. ECUADOR. C. unibrunnea. C. sumptuosa. 0. atrocastaneus. M. coronulatus. B. sanguinea. C. mocoa. A. spilorhynchus. 3. A certain number of Ecuadorian species, which do not occur in Bogota collections, are found in Antioquia. Such are:- Cyphorinus pheeocephalus. Thryothorus nigricapillus. Diglossa brunneiventris. Iridornis porphyreocephala. Creuryops verticalis. Tachyphonus delattrii. Buarremon castaneiceps. Saltator atripennis. Cnipodectes subbrunneus. Synallaxis erythrops. Androdon cequatorialis. Phaethornis syrmatophorus. 31omotus cequatorialis. 4. A certain number of species, hitherto only known from Panama or the adjacent districts, and not yet received from Bogota, intrude from the north into the Antioquian avifauna. These are, for example :- Dacnis venusta. Euphonia fulvicrissa. Calliste larvata. icterocephala1. Pyranga testacea. Orthogonys olivaceus. Eucometis cassini. Ostinops guatimozinus. Chiromachceris vitellina. Aulia rufescens. Lipaugus holerythrus. Lathra unirufa. Automolus pallidigularis. Dendrornis lacrimosa. Rhamphocanus cinereiventris. Heliothrix barroti. Celeus loricatus1. Trogon chionurus. Bucco subtectus1. pectoralis. Monasa pallescens. Capito maculicoronatus. Leucopternis semiplumbea% Crypturus boucardi. EXPLANATION OF THE PLATES. PLATE XLI.
