JAY.I.QJ957 Admitted: MAYJ 0 1957 WHEREAS, tha Imperial Irrigation District, an irrigation district> duly organized and existing under arid by virtue of the California Irrigation District Act and Acts amendatory thereof and supplemental thereto, and tho United States of America, by and through the Secretary of Interior, entered into a written Contract dated December 1, 1932, pursuant to existing law and in particular pursuant to tho Boulder Canyon Project Act, and said Contract haa boon duly validated as uo all persons and a copy of said Contract is hereto attached ao Exhibit 1 for Identification and referonoej and V/HERSAS, it is provided by said Contract that additional lando may be and are to be by appropriate proceedings included within the Imperial Irrigation District j and F.'HEREAS, it haa been and is determined that said lands to be included can bo irrigated by means of some of tho rorks of the Imperial Irrigation District or by means of practicable works connecting therewith, constructed or to be constructed, and that said lands will be bonofited by such irrigation and that it io for the best interests of the District that tho lands herein referred to be ixv-cluded within tho District; and WHERBASf the Secretary of the Interior, acting on behalf of the United States of America, has, in writing, consented and assented to the inclusion vjithin the Imperial Irrigation District of all of those lands indicated on Exhibit A attached to said Contract designated as "additional areas in proposed enlarged Imperial Irrigation District") and V.'fUtflSAS, construction of the Imperial Daia and the All-American Canal and appurtenant structures haa been commenced and is noaring completion) and 'VIIEIiSAS, in uaid Contract it ia provided that the Imperial Irrigation District nay and said District has agreed to include within the District tho public lands of tho United Stivteo in Iuperial County lying couth of the northerly lino of Township 11 South of the San iJormirdino Baoo Line, and within the "arua to bo included," u defined and referred to in said Contract! and ftH&SASi the following Joscribod lands are public lands of the United States in Imperial County lying aouth of the northerly boundary line of Township -1- |
