Show 15 1 to entry for a period of sixty days after the filing and nota- o tion of the relinquishment in the local land office, and after 3 the expiration of said sixty-day period such lands shall he 4 open to entry, subject to the preference in this section pror 5 vided. 6 Sec. 10. That nothing in this Act shall be construed 7 as modifying in any manner the existing contract, dated 8 October 23, 1918, between the United States and the Im- 9 penal Irrigation District, providing for a connection with 10 Laguna Dam; but the Secretary of the Interior is authorized 11 to modify the said contract, with the consent of the said 12 district, and also to enter into contract or contracts with the 13 said district or other districts, persons, or agencies for the 14 construction, in accordance with this Act, of said canal and 15 appurtenant structures, nnd also for the operation and 1G maintenance thereof, with the consent of. the other users. 17 Sec. 11. "Political subdivision" or "political sub- 18 divisions " as used in this Act shall be understood to include 19 any State, irrigation, or other district, municipality, or other 20 governmental organization. 21 "Reclamation law" as used in this Act shall be 22 understood to mean that certain Act of the Congress of the 23 United States approved June 17, 1902, entitled "An Act 24 appropriating the receipts from the sale and disposal of 25 public land in certain States and Territories to the construe- |
