Admitted: May 10, 1957 Contract Between the United States and the Imperial Irrigation District This agreement made the 9th day of June, 1933, between the United States of America, acting for this purpose through Elwood Mead, Commissioner, Bureau of Reclamation, duly authorized, under the provisions of the Act of June 17, 1902, 32 Stat. 388, and Acts amendatory thereof or supplementary thereto, herein styled the United States, and the Imperial Irrigation District, an irrigation district organized and existing under the laws of the State of California, with its principal office at El Centro, California, herein styled the District-Witnesseth 2. Whereas in pursuance of the studies being made with respect to the construction of the All-American canal, as provided for in the Act of December 21, 1928, 45 Stat. 1057, the District desires that there be made at this time such investigations, surveys, estimates and preparation of plans and specifications covering the construction of that portion of the main canal running from Pilot Knob through the Sandhill division; and 3. Whereas it will be of mutual advantage to have such investigations and surveys made by the United States and the District is willing to advance the money necessary to make such investigations; 4. Now, Therefore, in consideration of the premises and the mutual agreement herein contained, it is stipulated and agreed as follows: |
