Show 1 and equip, operate, and maintain at or near said dam, and 2 within a State which has approved the Colorado River 3 compact hereinafter mentioned, a complete plant and inci- 4 dental structures suitable for the fullest economic develop- 5 ment of electrical energy from the water discharged from 6 said reservoir; and to acquire by proceedings in eminent 7 domain, or otherwise, all lands, rights of way, and other 8 property necessary for said purposes. 9 Sec. 2. (a) There is hereby established a special fund, 10 to be known as the "Colorado Biver Dam fund" (herein- 11 after referred to as the "fund"), and to be available, as 12 hereafter provided, only for earning out the provisions 13 of this Act. All revenues received in carrying out the provi- 14 sions of this Act shall be paid into and expenditures shall 15 be made out of the fund, under the direction of the Secretary 16 of the Interior. 17 (b) The Secretary of the Treasury is authorized to 18 advance to the fund, from time to time and within the appro- 19 priations therefor, such amounts as the Secretary of the 20 Interior deems necessary for carrying out the provisions of 21 this Act, except that the aggregate amount of such advances 22 shall not exceed the sum of $125,000,000. Interest at the 23 rate of 4 per centum per annum accruing during the year 24 upon the amounts so advanced and remaining unpaid shall 25 be paid annually out of the fund. |
