A BILL To provide for the protection and development of the lower Colorado River Basin. 1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represented 2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 3 That, for the purpose of regulating the lower Colorado 4 ltiver and controlling the floods therein, providing storage 5 of water for irrigation and other beneficial uses, securing the (j development of electrical power, and providing homes for 7 honorably discharged men and women of the United States X Army, Navy, and Marine Corps who served therein during <) the war with (Jermany, the War with Spain, or in the 10 suppression of the insurrection in the Philippines, the Sec- I | retary of the Interior is hereby authorized and empowered 12 to construct n dam and incidental works for the purpose of j;; providing a reservoir at or near Boulder Canyon on said 14 river, adequate for the purposes aforesaid, and to acquire |
