Show Frequency of Hospital Admissions The Utah:U.S. ratio shows that Utah's frequency of hospital admissions is approximately 74% of the nation's. Utah and the U.S. have experienced a general decline in hospital admissions since 1986, with Utah's rates remaining below the national average. In 1989 the U.S. experienced an increase in admission rates, as did Utah in 1990. Table 106. Source: Utah Association of Health Care Providers: Operations Profile. The Utah hospitalization prevalence rate by age indicates that younger persons are hospitalized less frequently than those who are older. Hospitalizations for ages 45-64 are about the same for males and females. Hospitalizations of those 65+ are substantially higher for males compared to the younger age groups. Females in the 18-44 age group have a much higher rate than the males, due to hospitalization for childbirth. Table 107.
