Show Binge Drinking (Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey) Binge drinking is defined as the consumption of five or more alcoholic drinks on one or more occasions during the previous month. The U.S. median has gradually declined since 1986. Utah's percentage of those reporting binge drinking is lower than the U.S. median; however, there have been fluctuations but no noticeable decrease in Utah's rate. Beginning in 1993, data began to be collected in odd years only. Table 76.
