The next day , De cember 1, work was continued on the structure all day.~te in ~ t he af t er noon the entire company moved ±'rom t he Thespain The a tre into their new home on the i s l and in the Ar kansas River and , before da rk , were well settleQ ±"or the night. ~ ~hus , in just one week after their a rrival in puebl o, John Morgan and his f irst Colorado Company of s a ints were success ful in loc a ting temporary ~ua rters; then in f inding loca tion for pe rmanent re s idence during the winter and in build ing and moving into th ose permanent ~u a rters , all in a t ine sp irit of co ope r ation in the United Order organ i zation to which they had committed themselves. Elder Morgan p re ached a sermon on the ne cessity of union , order , and cleanliness in the camp ; emphasizing the truth |
