Show 0- Mr. Albert Hoggard who had been a very bitter critic of Elder Morgan came to him and asked him to baptize his wiie who had asked her hus-band t·or tha t privilege . This Elder Morgan did and then baptized t wo mor e of the Fawcett Iamily , Cricket and Jesse B. Fawce tt . That evening a:t" t er dinner, he rode up to the Kilgore home in McLemore's cove; found all well and then held a meeting at tha t home with a large group of assembled s a ints and neighboring friends . On the morning of the 16th of November, William c . Kilgore drove q_ Elder Morgan to Chattanooga , Tennessee where he met Mess rs . Sissons and Trustow, agents , of the Railroad . With these gentlemen, he concluded his f i nal arrangements for the first migration of Mormon con-verts to the san Luis valley in Colorado as well as some who were to proceed on to Utah . The following morning he took the tra in down to Stevenson , Alabama , where he met a Mr . Howard , a Second Day Adventist Minister with whom he had dinner and an extended and interesti ng interview. He then , in the aiternoon , proceeded down to Sc otsboro , Al abama . Here he round a part of the emigrants wa iting . During the day of November 18 , 1877 , he remained in c amp with the saints , getting better a cqua in~ed with some and encouraging all in the journey tha t lay bet·ore them . That evening he was gr n ted the use o!· the local church where he held meeting and preached to a l a r ge aud ience , many of them visitors , but all of whom paid close a ttention and appeared intensely interested . On tne morning of the 20th , r e aring that the other Saints who were late in coming had had some ~rouble , he rode down to the Tennessee River where he met the families I rom Grove Oak, Al abama on t heir way in covered wagons drawn by oxen.
