In haste , (William Green, Methodist prea cher) Written in by John Morgan Early on the morning of october 1~ they baptized and conf irmed Bailey ·. oyers and Saxa:h u oyers and a!"terwards drove down to the Arrnuchie Br anch where they joined the Pack Haynie family in a corn husk ing bee that evening. he following day they visited a t the Reid home and ~ g. later visited at the Francis M. Weldon home where they stayed tha t night . Brother Welden and his tobacco pipe caused both El ders much discomf orture during the evening and night . On the morning of the 2~ they crossed the creek in the Welden ba~eau ; proceeded on to Beech Creek Branch where they visited at the Allen home and r ema ined there for the night . On Sunaay , october 21st , they held meeting at Beech ~ reek at 11 a .m. and 7 p .m. with ±"air attendance at both meetings . Monday morn ing they proceeded on to Rome with brother J ohn B. Dan iels and a t 1 p .m. John l!organ to ok the train and proceeded on to Cha ttanooga to see about emigration matters . He arrived at his destina tion a t 8 :1 5 p.m . ; met Hr . Sission , a railroad representative , and secured an appointment f or the f ollowing day. He spent the morning of the 23rd wal k ing ab out the city until a !·ternoon when he again met with !A:r . Sission,¢ and t or some time discussed emigration ma tters . At this time arrangements were made t hrough Hr . Sission f or him to meet the l ead ing r a ilroad ticket agents on t he following day .
